The house
Little Bear was designed for looking out. The great room's A-frame wall of glass frames the ridge and the valley beyond, and almost every room has a view into the trees. Downstairs there's a rec room with a gas fireplace and TV, and two decks give you a fire pit for the evening and rocking chairs for the morning.
The kitchen has everything you need to cook for a crowd, the dining table seats everyone, and there are books, games, and fast Wi-Fi for the days you don't feel like going anywhere.
We have three dogs of our own, so well-behaved dogs are always welcome for a small fee.

Sleeping arrangements
Every bedroom has a full bath nearby, so nobody is waiting in line in the morning. Linens and towels are provided.
Around Wintergreen
We're on a private street a few minutes below the top of the mountain. A hiking trail starts a few hundred yards from the driveway, and the Wintergreen market and gas station are a short drive up the hill.
Wintergreen Resort has skiing and snow tubing in winter, and golf, a spa, pools, tennis, and a lake beach in summer. Reid's Gap and the Three Ridges trail are five minutes away, the Blue Ridge Parkway is just beyond that, and there are a dozen wineries, breweries, and cideries within a half hour in Nelson County.
Despite being close to all of it, the house is private and peaceful.
